James O'Shea

Gallery Director / Photographer / Artist

Kia ora!

My name is James O'Shea and I am the owner and Gallery Director of Joji Studio & Gallery. I am a graduate of the International SAE Institute where I completed my degree in Film & Post Production Studies. Since leaving university I have been working as a freelance photographer and videographer and have able to be a part of some awesome projects and work with a wide variety of people.

Joji Studio & Gallery has recently been created to give Northland and other artists a unique space to exhibit all mediums of art. Having a background in Art & Design since my early school years, I’ve carried my passion through to now making a career out of doing what I love. I enjoy meeting people and learning about different artist’s cultures and process’.

My aim is to provide a community orientated space that can facilitates artist’s hosting their own exhibitions and workshops. In the past, I have experienced the trials and tribulations of trying to get my own work displayed in a gallery. My aim to keep my doors open to all creatives wishing to take that next leap and show off their work to their whanau, friends and the wider public.

Pop in to the gallery anytime! Would love to have a chat and tell you more!
