Nau Mai Haere Mai, Paki Mai - All Welcome!
Joji Studio & Gallery has recently been created to give Northland and other New Zealand artists a unique space to exhibit all mediums of art at an affordable cost.
Our historic gallery was built in 1905 and comes with exposed brick walls, original high ceilings and beautiful wooden floors. With a New York loft feel it is a perfect alternative space for exhibitions and workshops right in the heart of the Whangarei retail centre.
We offer a unique and professional space at a very affordable price. We are community orientated and work alongside artists, allowing them to be part of the curating process and to see their ideas come to life in real time.
Owned and operated by local emerging artist James O’Shea “We’re done with the pretentious façade of the normal gallery setting and aim to bring art back to the roots of what it represents to all of us and acknowledge the artists respected place in our society.”
Whether it’s an exhibition, group workshops, performances, pop-up shops or Photography/Videography services we cater to all.
Located at the front of our space is 'JOJI GALLERY' a creative safe haven in the heart of Whangarei CBD. We encourage artists to HIRE OUR GALLERY SPACE for your own exhibitions and/or workshops. We will help with promotional material and provide some food & beverage on your opening night. It is a great way for artists to host their own event and display their work for the public to view and purchase. With our gallery facing Bank Street, Whangarei you'll be sure to attract attention from the flow of foot traffic outside our doors.
